Join Us! Hillsborough County Democrats and Bedford Democrats are hosting a forum on the dismantling of public education and the future of our schools. Our guest speakers are Jack Schneider and Jennifer Berkshire, co-authors of the book A Wolf At The Schoolhouse Door. Jennifer and Jack will discuss the decades long attempt by the extreme right to dismantle public education nationwide and how that plays into more recent legislation in New Hampshire with this year's passing of one of the more comprehensive school voucher programs in the country. The NH Republican Party's push for vouchers will have negative impacts on educational quality and property taxes. Although we encourage you to read their book, it is not necessary to do so to participate and learn from what promises to be an engaging and informative forum.

The Hillsborough County Democratic Committee invites you to a forum on Redistricting. Come learn about the checkered history of redistricting, both nationally and in New Hampshire. The forum will cover the decennial redistricting process currently underway and why it will impact NH politics over the next 10 years. Learn more about gerrymandering as well as what actions you can take as a citizen to help ensure a fair outcome. Our guest speakers include State Representative Marjorie Smith, Liz Tentarelli - President, NH League of Women Voters, and Olivia Zink - Executive Director, Open Democracy.

“This is so much more then just a cookbook... As someone who has voted in NH Presidential Primaries for over fifty years, reading about our past NH primaries was terrific. I really enjoyed seeing the photos of the candidates with good friends from Hillsborough County, especially my fellow House members. Every page of this cookbook brought a smile to my face.”
- Steve Shurtleff, Speaker of the NH House
